AI Disinvestment: Govt. to Divest 100% Stake in the National Carrier

The Modi Government is aiming to divest its entire stake in the ailing national carrier, which is saddled with debts of over 58,000 cr, as of March 31, 2019. The last date to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) is March 17.

This is the second time in as many years that the government is looking to disinvest its stake in Air India. In 2018, the government had invited bids by offering to sell stake of 76% in the state-owned carrier, however, it failed to attract a bidder.
